How is eyelid surgery performed?

- Upper eyelid operation: It involves placing the incisions in the natural crease of the upper eyelid while the eyes are open, and these incisions are well hidden when the eyes are open. Excess skin and protruding fat are removed and the incision is closed. An entire upper eyelid operation can be completed in about 15-30 minutes. If the eyebrows are too low, eyebrow lift and upper eyelid operation can be combined to achieve optimal rejuvenation results.
- Lower eyelid operation: It can correct the situation with an incision made just below the lower lash line. Excess skin on the lower eyelid is removed through this incision. Your doctor may also use an incision hidden inside the lower eyelid or a conjunctival incision as an alternative technique to correct lower eyelid conditions and redistribute or remove excess fat.
How is life after surgery?
The final results of the eyelid operation will appear in a few weeks. While the effects of the upper eyelid operation can last for many years and a lifetime, the lower eyelid operation rarely needs to be repeated. After eyelid surgery, a cold compress can be applied to your eye. It is important that you apply careful sun protection, including wearing dark sunglasses until the healing process is fully complete.
